Another sweet event was the trip to The End of the World near Hawkrrlic park, got to talk with a couple people from Encounter YEG so that was great.
Anyways what I'm saying is that I love the communities that I've found myself in, yeah. Anyways Sunday routine below:
CCC in the morning
Joseph Vanderveen's testimony. It sounded like he has such a powerful testimony, lots of powerful stuff that God did in his life, and opportunities for strength and growth.
Axels third birthday party @ Joels.
Pretty standard, I got to chill with Imogen & Axel and they're both cute.
Evening@ The Project "Ghost Stories"
"Be still and know I am God."
Sit in Silence before God.
New theme "Ghost Stories"
History, finding someone who resembles me.
The story of Joseph, King of Dreams
7 years of harvest, followed by
7 years of famine for Egypt.
Joseph experienced basically the worst that humanity has to offer.
Life forces some of us to stop/stall/ completely slow down and spinning our wheels. The experience that everyone else's life is moving off except your own. "Google What to do when I'm stuck in a rut."
But, this gives us the opportunity to rethink things.
He controlled and leveraged WHAT HE COULD in his reality to shape who he wanted and needed to become.
Ask yourself these questions:
1. How do you actually think about yourself?
At this stage in life, realize how much that you are a patchwork "self" that is a version of others.
Has your situation captured your thought life and your imagination, Sapped your ability to think creatively; you just want to quit at the age of 25?
Ephesians 2:10 "we're Gods masterpiece"
Philippians 4:8-9 "whatever is true, honourable, just, pure, lovely, commendable ... think about these things."
Attitude is the key, whether it is your own attitude, or the attitude of those around you.
Promote life, not death. Find those who are sowing life, and focus on them. And move away from those who are sowing death.
You can control what you do, and more importantly WHO YOU WANT TO BECOME.
Joseph had the commitment to his own character, and due to his circumstance he helped an entire nation experience freedom when they were stalled.
You might be doing the same thing in your pause.
Final reflection questions:
1. What makes me me?
2. What dreams, desires, or passions lie dormant within me?
3. Who can I launch around me?
My experiences, my character, values, time commitments, the things that entertain me, my humour, everything I am prepared to do even if I don't know what it is yet.
Hope for future, hope for my relationships, desire for stability, desire for respect, dreams of perfect community, passion for God.
The communities, my friends, those old friends, the immature in their walk with Christ, coworkers, strangers, neighbours.
Big. Tough. Questions.
That's all for now. God is good.
